Silent Battles: Exploring the Diverse Experiences of Canadian Veterans Living with Chronic Pain – Seeking Participants

Published On: September 30, 2025|Categories: Bulletin Board|

Chronic pain affects Canadian veterans more often and more severely than the general population, and this has a major impact on their quality of life. This research project explores the unique challenges Canadian Veterans face in living with chronic pain, focusing on how different groups of Veterans experience it. The study pays particular attention to equity-seeking groups, including women, Indigenous people, individuals with disabilities, and ethnic and sexual minorities, to understand how their different identities affect their pain and how they manage it.

The study is funded by the Chronic Pain Centre of Excellence for Canadian Veteran and conducted in partnership with the Quebec Veterans Foundation.
