How Orleans Legion Branch 632 supports the youth in our community.
Remembrance Video Contest
Participants are challenged to exercise their creative storytelling skills to create a short video on the theme of Remembrance.
Videos must be submitted through the RemembranceContests.ca website. Winning entries at the Provincial level are then forwarded to the Legion National Foundation in Ottawa to be judged at the national level. The First-Place entries are displayed at the Canadian War Museum from November to October of the following year.
Remembrance Literary Essay/Poem Contest
Contestants are challenged to exercise their creativity and write an essay and/or poem on the theme of Remembrance.
This is a contest to select the most suitable essays and poems submitted by students in the Canadian school system.
The essays and poems will be judged at the local Legion Branch and then at the Provincial level. The Provincial winners in the Junior, Intermediate and Senior categories will then be submitted to Ottawa for judging at the National level.
Public Speaking Contest
Open to all Students attending schools in the City of Ottawa. The Public Speaking Contest is divided into two parts:
- Part one is for Grades 1 to 6 and check-in time at the above noted branch is at 8:00 am with the public speaking contest starting at 8:30 am sharp.
- Part two is for Grade 7 to 12 and check in time at the above noted branch is schedule for12:30 pm with the public speaking contest starting around 1:00 pm.
The topic for their speech is open for students and speeches can be in either French or English
